Innovation up close: Internship at Weiss Robotics

Thierry, a mechanical engineering student, has been part of our team at Weiss Robotics for seven weeks. During his internship, Thierry was mainly involved in the production and assembly of our grippers and gained valuable insights into the design of gripping systems.

One of the highlights of his internship was working on two challenging designs: The first consisted of two grippers that worked synchronized using the GRIPLINK. A sensor in the middle monitored the process and detected potential problems at an early stage. In the second design, Thierry combined a Weiss Robotics gripper with a Schmalz pump - a powerful combination for precise gripping operations.

Thierry also gained valuable experience in the operation and maintenance of our production machines, from CNC milling machines to conventional lathes.

His conclusion: “The internship helped me a lot in my understanding of industrial production. The impressions I gained will be of great help to me in my studies and my future career.”

Thierry's commitment and fresh perspectives enrich our team and we are looking forward to his further development. We look forward to supporting him on his journey and are excited to see what the future holds for him!
